I acquired the Weems and Plath "Coast Guard" navigation kit in 2007 that included the nautical slide rule and a paraline (plotter in a roller) that "melted" in the 2010 heat. Neither item has any use if deformed.
I have used this company's time-tested products for more than 30 years since they are very useful for chart navigation as a GPS back-up. You would think they might switch to a different type of plastic or nylon that is more heat resistant.
